Pauline's way - December 2008
Pauline's Way was made for the Retro Remakes 2008 Big Competition. It contended in the category Sequels That Weren’t. Pauline was the lady in the original Donkey Kong game. Pauline's Way is a little platformer in an Atari 2600 like style. Please contact me if you have tips or suggestions or maybe a bug to report.
This game is freeware and should work on all Windows systems with directx 7 or higher installed. For smooth scrolling and real arcade gameplay you have to set framerate to 60hz. Download

Retroremakes
The largest game remakes community on the Internet with many links to remakes of old video games. While you're there, take a look at the competions. The reviews of the games are really interesting.
Classic-retro-games
Great site with a lot of classic retro games you can dowload. When you're a remaker you can submit a game.
Purebasic
All my remakes are coded in Purebasic. I've tried to code games in Visual Basic but I soon got very bored. When coding directx in visual Basic you have to code a lot of overhead. So I searched for another way to do the trick and tested basic compilers like Liberty basic, Darkbasic and Blitzplus. They are all very good compilers but I choose Purebasic. In Purebasic the directx overhead takes a few lines. It also produces very fast and very small executables.
Blender
Blender is the open source software for 3D modeling. I used it for allmost all the graphics in Demon Attack. Blender is not easy to learn but it's very powerfull.
Popdog Fonts
The font that I used in the Demon Attack remake and on my site is the Ziperhead font from Popdog Fonts. Serious fonts for serious people!

Scramble remake - March 2008
This is my second remake of Scramble. It has rescaled graphics, a brand new stage, a continue option and - last but not least - additional gameplay. In later stages you fly right to left! Check it out. It's weird! You can also hook up a gamepad or joystick to play. Please contact me if you have tips or suggestions or maybe a bug to report.
The original Scramble was released in 1981 by Konami. My remake is freeware and should work on all Windows systems with directx 7 or higher installed. For smooth scrolling and real arcade gameplay you have to set framerate to 60hz. Download

Demon Attack remake - August 2006
The Demon Attack Remake is a game that I made for the Retro Remakes 2006 Competition. Out of 76 entries it finished 10th and also received one of the judge's spot prizes! And on top of that Issue 33 of Retro Gamer magazine featured a Write up on my Demon Attack remake! After I finished Demon Attack I made a Postmortem in which you can read how the work on this remake went.
The original Demon Attack was released in 1982 for the Atari 2600 bij Imagic. My remake is freeware and should work on all Windows systems with directx 7 or higher installed. Download

Scramble remake - March 2006
After finishing the Invaders clone I immediately started work on my first Scramble remake. The endresult may look like a straight clone but it has a few extra's like an additional stage.
Known issue: doesn't run on systems that don't support resolutions of 320x240. Download

While checking out Purebasic I coded a clone of Space Invaders. This is my second game ever that is actually playable and not half done and abandoned. Please contact me if you have tips or suggestions or maybe a bug to report.
The original Space Invaders was released in 1978 by Taito. My remake is freeware and should work on all Windows systems with directx 7 or higher installed. Known issue: doesn't run on systems that don't support resolutions of 320x240. Download
